What usually goes wrong
- It will not power up, or it blows fuses.
- The pump will not spin up, or will not reach speed.
- A magnetic bearing fault on an STP pump.
- A dead display, a dead fan or no communication.
- Unstable rotation.
- Bad switches.
Behind most of these sits the power supply, the motor drive circuit, or the control and communication circuits, and on maglev units the levitation circuit.
